A day after she announced the good news that 100 million vaccinations were already administered in the EU, EC President Ursula von der Leyen tweeted on Thursday that she got a Covid-19 vaccine.

“I’m very glad I got my first shot of #COVID19 vaccine today”, she wrote posting as well a photo of her taking the vaccine injection.

It is not reported what vaccine the head of the Commission received, but people from the Brussels Bubble suggested that it was a BioNTech-Pfizer jab.

On Wednesday, Von der Leyen announced that the Commission has reached an agreement with BioNTech-Pfizer to speed up the delivery of 50 million additional doses in second quarter of this year, starting in April.

“Vaccinations will further gather pace, as deliveries are accelerating in the EU. The swifter we vaccinate, the sooner we can control the pandemic,” she also tweeted.
