Vienna Philharmonic invites to a Love concert

For another year, Vienna Philharmonic will present its traditional Summer Night Concert to the lovers of classical music. The concert, which was scheduled for 21 May, will take place on 18 September. As usual, the concert will be held in the open, in the fabulous baroque gardens of Schoenbrunn Palace, but this time with much more limited audience.

The programme of this year's concert, whose theme is “Love”, includes works by Richard Strauss, Richard Wagner, Aram Khachaturian, Jacques Offenbach, Emmerich Kalman, Jules Massenet and Giacomo Puccini. The 2020 Summer Night Concert will be made available to the public primarily by means of the Austrian public television channel ORF2 and the German public television channel 3 SAT, which will broadcast live from Schoenbrunn Park.
The first one of the Summer Night Concerts was held on 25 May 2004 with the theme “Concert for Europe”, and it was dedicated to the enlargement of the European Union. Since then, every year about 100,000 people gather between the Neptune Fountain and the palace building for each Summer Night Concert, in order to enjoy the virtuoso performances of Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the purpose of which is to promote classical music. These concerts present an original kind of a gift by Vienna Philharmonic for the residents and guests of Vienna and admission is always free.
