Open-air cinema at Goethe-Institut

This month, Goethe-Institut in Sofia provides its backyard to cinema lovers. This new initiative, called Backyard Cinema - HOFKINO, aims to present some of the most interesting contemporary German film productions, covering various plots and genres of the contemporary German fiction and documentaries.

The backyard of the institute is intended to turn into a cinema under the starry sky, where the audience will be able to enjoy a diverse film selection in the summer evenings.

On 11 June, the film Finsterworld (2013), directed by Frauke Finsterwalder, will start the series. This mosaic-like film intertwines several apparently unrelated stories, which will make room to intrusive observations of the German identity. The screening starts around 9pm. From 7pm DJs Funktool and Flying Datzman will warm up the audience with live sets.

On 25 June, the film Master of the Universe (2013) will be screened.

You can attend free of charge this backyard cinema initiative. For safety reasons, the event has limited access (up to 30 seats) and pre-registration is required.
