El Chapo releases yet another mobster bulletinMonitor News Agency
Vasil Bozhkov, aka the Bulgarian El Chapo, has released his latest mobster bulletin from his luxury penthouse in Dubai, where he is hiding from the Bulgarian judicial system and the 18 charges filed against him. On his Facebook page he posted three questions addressed to “the individual B. M. B., on which he (the latter) could seek counsel from his treasurer, Vladi G”.
“1. Does he understand the difference between “tax” and “fee”? 2. Should shareholders be held responsible for potential liabilities incurred by the company they have invested in? 3. Where and on what grounds should I personally deposit BGN 700m in accordance with his expectations? #BeBrave”, the post on the gambling tzar’s profile reads. The Facebook page is managed by Ivet Dobromirova, a known staffer of the oligarchy.
Bozhkov’s post comes a day after Prime Minister Boyko Borissov urged him to “come back and pay what he owes, BGN 700m” instead of announcing “political” projects. However, El Chapo’s post also clearly targets his hitherto partners, who have started publicly exposing his schemes and lies.
All the smokescreens set by the gambling tzar and oligarch have one single goal – to stir unrest in the country and deliver blows to the Prosecutor’s Office so he can obstruct justice. That has been the mode of operation of all oligarchs that have gotten into legal trouble so far – Tsvetan Vassilev, Ivo Prokopiev, Ognyan Donev, Sasho Donchev. The suspicion is that they will be the associates of the gambling tzar in his new political project.
For nearly 30 years the oligarchs in Bulgaria, created by the State Security and the shadowy circles, proved the saying that every country has its mafia and it is only in Bulgaria that the mafia has a country. And now that the time has come for them to answer for their crimes, Bozhkov is calling on the rest of the behind-the-scenes clique to come together and attack the government through a new political party. And that union is already a reality.
There is a simple explanation for this – the noose around the necks of “businessmen” like Bozhkov, Tsvetan Vassilev, Ivo Prokopiev, Ognyan Donev and Sasho Donchev is clearly getting tighter and justice is on their doorstep. With their backs against the wall, the oligarchs are about to invest a portion of the billions of levs they stole from Bulgarians into founding a new political party to be headed essentially by the leaders of the Bulgarian mafia.
Just as no political organisation can do without a PR and a media platform, the party Bulgarian Summer also has someone to rely on for such services. On the one hand, there is the professional protester Ivet Dobromirova, who serves the oligarchs and is now busy cleaning up the image of the fugitive Bozhkov. On the one hand, there is bTV (aka Bozhkov TV), which is also biased in favour of the oligarchy. The connection that the gambling tzar has on the TV network has been revealed to society at large – executive director Florian Skala and Ivo Prokopiev.
Last but not least is the financial backing for the latest political mobster, as one more thing has become clear – that he has joined forces with the other high-profile fugitive, Tsvetan Vassilev, as well as natural gas tycoon Sasho Donchev and pharmaceutical tycoon Ognyan Donev. Every single one of them has reasons to hate the state and the Prosecutor’s Office.
Tsvetan Vassilev, aka the Bulgarian Madoff, who stole BGN 5.6bn from CorpBank and fled to Belgrade has had aspirations to become prime minister and even paid serious sums of money to attend leadership classes abroad. In the current situation, however, Vassilev has clearly agreed to let Bozhkov be the leader and is doing everything possible to support this crony of his.
