12 Bulgarian scientists at the Sofia University “St Kliment Ohridski” are in the top two percent of the world's best scientists according to a Stanford University ranking.

The list divides scientists into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. The ranking is compiled on the basis of a comprehensive analysis that takes into account data on number of citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations of papers in different authorship positions, etc.

The list features the names of scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia University “St Kliment Ohridski” and other Bulgarian universities. The recognised Bulgarian researchers come from various scientific fields and place near the top of the US university's ranking in competition with millions of peers from around the world.
