Political parties agree to 5 October as election date
The political parties represented in the Bulgarian parliament held consultations on 27 June and agreed on 5 October as the date for the early elections in the country. BSP leader Sergei Stanishev said that the proposal will be forwarded to President Rosen Plevneliev. The consultations lasted nearly two and a half hours and united representatives of GERB, the Bulgarian Socialist Party and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. Ataka MPs did not attend.
