Political parties agree to 5 October as election date


The polit­i­cal par­ties rep­re­sent­ed in the Bul­gar­i­an par­lia­ment held con­sul­ta­tions on 27 June and agreed on 5 Octo­ber as the date for the ear­ly elec­tions in the coun­try. BSP lead­er Ser­gei Stan­ish­ev said that the pro­pos­al will be for­ward­ed to Pres­i­dent Rosen Plev­ne­liev. The con­sul­ta­tions last­ed near­ly two and a half hours and unit­ed rep­re­sent­a­tives of GERB, the Bul­gar­i­an Social­ist Par­ty and the Move­ment for Rights and Freed­oms. Ata­ka MPs did not attend.
