France's largest food retailer Carrefour teams up with Google to boost its online shopping business on its home turf, where rivals are also launching e-commerce offensives. By early 2019, French shoppers will be able to buy Carrefour's products through Google platforms including Home, Assistant and the Google shopping destination in France, the retailer said in a statement. The US firm hopes the programme will allow retailers to capture more purchases on mobile phones or smart home devices. The Carrefour deal marks its first partnership in France.
