The details of the production are still kept secret. What is known is that the star's son - Ziggy Marley, who follows in the steps of his father and has quite a bright career of his own in reggae, will pair with Paramount in working on his dad's biopic.
Robert Nesta Marley, the original name of Bob Marley, was born 6 February in Saint Ann province, Jamaica. His greatest hits album, Legend, was released in 1984, three years after Marley died. It subsequently became the best-selling reggae album of all time.
Diagnosed with acral lentiginous melanoma in 1977, Marley died on 11 May 1981 in Miami at age 36. He was a committed Rastafari who infused his music with a sense of spirituality.
