      Who is afraid of revision of transition to democracy?

      Thirty years after 10th November 1989, the term "transition" still works flawlessly in our country, the same way as the English salt does. Especially, if it is combined with another term - "revision". A few days ago, it became clear that ultimately, such a revision might be finally conducted. GERB party (Citizens for European development of Bulgaria) insisted on establishment of a commission of inquiry, charged to investigate what happened in the murky 1990s in Bulgaria. Their idea was supported by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), which pointed out that such a proposal has been repeatedly submitted by the lawmaker Delyan Peevski.

      European Parliament approves Brexit deal

      European Parliament sealed the UK leaving the EU on 31 January by approving on Wednesday the Withdrawal Agreement, the EP press service reported. The vote was preceded by a debate with the Croatian State Secretary for European Affairs Nikolina Brnjac on behalf of the Presidency of the Council, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and the EUs Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier, Parliament took stock of the withdrawal process so far and the challenges ahead.

      Regions, Member States get industrial transition support

      Ten EU regions and two Member States will each receive a €300,000 EU grant to help their industrial transition under an initiative launched a year ago by the Commission, the EU press service reported. They have applied to receive EC support and expertise in designing development strategies based on their areas of competitive strength, the so-called “smart specialisation” assets.
