A 7.5-magnitude earthquake rocked southern Mexico, the National Seismological Service said on Tuesday, with six people reported killed and dozens of buildings damaged. Another four people had been injured. Earlier, civil protection coordinator David Leon had told W Radio that four people had been killed and five people had been injured, dpa reminds.

Sweden is not an area that normally experiences powerful seismic activity, but tremors due to mining activities are not uncommon. However, with a magnitude of 4.1 this was Sweden's biggest mining-related earthquake ever.

A strong earthquake shook Croatia and its capital on Sunday, causing widespread damage and panic. A 15-year-old was reported in critical condition and others were injured, news outlets reported.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.6 and an aftershock only slightly weaker shook the Albanian port town of Durres on Saturday, rocking buildings there and in the capital Tirana and sending residents rushing into the streets and parks for safety. The Defence Ministry said it was the most powerful quake in Albania in the last 30 years.
