The US President Donald Trump ousted his campaign manager Brad Parscale and replaced him with veteran GOP operative Bill Stepien, as polls show rival Joe Biden opening up a significant early lead in the race for the White House, news wires reported.
The coronavirus crisis has caused a dramatic deterioration in the European public perception of the US and left many believing the EU had become "irrelevant", the new survey by the European Council for Foreign Relations (ECFR) shows. It says the pandemic has traumatised Europeans and left them "feeling alone and vulnerable". The survey studied the views of Europeans towards the EU and notably its response to the coronavirus crisis and the results did not make for positive reading, AFP reported.

The majority of Germans are against lifting the restrictions on movement put in place to stop the spread of the new coronavirus, dpa reported on Monday. In survey results from research institute YouGov on behalf of dpa, 44% advocated for an extension of the measures beyond April 19, while 12% are even in favour of tightening them. Only 32% are in favour of a relaxation and 8% for an abolition of the restrictions.
Despite support for the EU is hitting heights not recorded in more than a quarter of a century, more than half of the European citizens believe that the EU would not survive another 10 or 20 years. This is the conclusion of the lastest survey conducted in 14 Member States by British pollster YouGov for the London-based think-tank, the European Council on Foreign Relations.
The latest EU public opinion survey, conducted in late February 2019, highlights continued strong support for the European Union. At the same time, however, it shows that barely four out of 10 Europeans can say when the upcoming EP elections are.
