Not a day passes without vomiting false news, misinformation or an outright lie about MP and publisher of Telegraph Media Delyan Peevski. This oligarchy mantra is diligently followed by Ivo Prokopiev's mainstream media machine. For the last 13 years, since the Telegraph media publications have been revealing the plunders of the oligarchy by documents and facts, there have been thousands of fake news items about Peevski.

In the last couple of weeks, the Yes, Bulgaria troll Ivo Mirchev, who presents himself as an IT expert, is diligently working to fulfil his quota. When he is not looking out for his boss Hristo Ivanov, his main job is to churn out lies about lawmaker and Telegraph Media publisher Delyan Peevski.

An incubator for mouthpieces publicly defending the theses of the indicted and charged oligarchs in Bulgaria – that is what the so-called Anti-Corruption Fund is. Instead of doing the investigative work it received a grant four years ago to do, it serves society articles designed to vilify the public institutions that have been going after the NGO’s mentors so that those people can make themselves out to be victims instead of the criminals being prosecuted for their shady deals that they are.

Vassil Bozhkov, known as Bulgarian El Chapo, with 18 charges filed against him, who is currently hiding in Dubai after defrauding the state coffers out of BGN 700m, rushed to defend his foster brother Plamen Bobokov.

A day after a panel of judges of the Specialised Criminal Court fully acquitted the oligarch Ivo Prokopiev and his five accomplices in the EVN Bulgaria Electricity case, in which, according to the Prosecutor’s Office and the expertise presented in the courtroom, the treasury was damaged by over BGN 20m, this scandalous decision was expectedly applauded by the oligarchy.

The behind-the-scenes clique’s pawn installed at the helm of the judicial system – Lozan Panov, head of the Supreme Court of Cassation – just provided clear proof that the oligarchy’s influence has infiltrated every last corner of the judicial system, allowing the oligarchs to feel untouchable when it comes to punishment for their crimes. And so after court proceedings that went on for a year and a half, a panel of judges of the Specialised Criminal Court fully acquitted on Sunday the leader of the Capital circle Ivo Prokopiev and the ministers he got onto the first cabinet of PM Boyko Borissov – Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov and Minister of Economy Traycho Traykov – in the EVN case.
