      Italian police announced it had broken up a large number of online schemes set to offer for sale fake EU digital Covid-19 status certificates or falsely administered coronavirus vaccines. The investigation was supervised by the cybercrime prosecutor’s office in Milan and showed that thousands of people were ready to pay for false certificates, Reuters reported. The EU on Thursday launched a digital Covid-19 certificate designed to help citizens travel across Europe bloc and restart the summer tourism.

      German carrier Lufthansa announced it would allow passengers to use new digital Covid-19 vaccination certificates at check-in for their flights, Reuters reported. Lufthansa confirmed that passengers would be able to show the digital proof of vaccination either on their phones or on a printout when checking in at the airport, and the boarding pass would then be issued.

      The Presidents of the three EU institutions, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU and the European Commission attended on Monday the official signing ceremony for the Regulation on the EU Digital COVID Certificate, marking the end of the legislative process, EC Press service reported. EP Presidents David Sassoli, EC President Ursula von der Leyen and Portugal's PM António Costa issued a joint statement, pointing out that the EU Digital COVID Certificate Regulation was agreed between institutions in the record time of 62 days.
