      In the largest protest in 30 years, almost 260,000 Czech demonstrators took to the streets of Prague on Sunday to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Andrej Babis and of Justice Minister Marie Benesova. Organised by “One Million Moments for Democracy”, the 23 June protest filled the historic Letna Park, the site of massive anti-Communist protests during the 1989 Velvet Revolution that brought down the hated Soviet-backed regime.

      The European Commission will provide funding of €172,5m from the EU agricultural budget to promote EU agri-food products in Europe and across the world, the EC press office announced. This amount would incorporate 79 campaigns, covering a wide range of products such as dairy products, olives and olive oil, and fruit and vegetables, that will be rolled out over the next three years.

      Top Greek court orders inquiry into handling of EU funds

      Greek Supreme Court Public Prosecutor Xeni Dimitriou has ordered a preliminary investigation into media reports about an alleged mismanagement of €570m of EU funds given to Greece to cope with the migration crisis. According to reports, country’s financial prosecutor Marianna Psaroudaki has already summoned witnesses to testify, including the head of the migration policy ministry’s reception and identification service, Lieutenant General Andreas Iliopoulos.
