      Hungary will impose new restrictions on cross-border travel as of Wednesday, 15 July, following a surge in coronavirus cases in several countries, news wires reported. PM Viktor Orban's chief of staff Gergely Gulyas told an online news conference on Sunday that new restrictions were needed to keep the coronavirus "outside the borders" in order to avoid the re-introduction of domestic lockdown measures.

      Austria lifts coronavirus border checks with all neighbours except Italy

      Austria is lifting coronavirus-related border restrictions including quarantines for all neighbouring countries except Italy as of Thursday, Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg said. Austria borders eight countries and had agreed with Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein that they would reopen their shared borders from 15 June. It is now accelerating that move on its side and lifting checks for Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary as well, Reuters reported.
