The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices triumphs in SkopjeEuropost
The latest tour of the Bulgarian women's choir The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices made a triumphant start in Skopje on 8 October. The choir presents its latest album BooCheeMish, recorded together with Lisa Gerrard. The spacious and beautiful acoustic hall of Skopje Philharmonics, inaugurated two years ago, was too small to accommodate all music lovers who wanted to enjoy the art of the Bulgarian singers and the Australian icon of Dead Can Dance.
Acapella performances, typical of the choir since its foundation in 1952 to the present day, stirred especially high interest along with the original interpretations by Peter Dundakov, composer and music director of the project. The culmination came after the solo performance of beatboxer Skiller. Lisa Gerrard drew ovations for each song performed with the choir and its soloists.
Within the next two weeks, The Mystery of the Bulgarian voices will give concerts in Zagreb, Ljubljana, Prague, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Vienna and Athens. Lausanne and Zurich are the last two stops during this tour.
