More transparency in dealing with lobbyists

Parliament voted last Thursday at a plenary session to strengthen transparency in dealing with lobbyists. The vote represents a serious change to currently existing rules. It will require all rapporteurs, shadow rapporteurs and parliamentary group leaders to list in advance online all meetings with registered lobbyists.

The rule strictly applies to these individuals as they are instrumental in drafting laws. All other MEPs will be also invited to voluntarily declare meetings with lobbyists.
