Bulgaria through the glass of time

An interactive exhibition titled Bulgaria Through the Glass of Time is on display at the Museum of Rome in Trastevere from 12 December to 12 January, the organizers from the Values Foundation said. The exhibition will mark the 140th anniversary of Bulgarian-Italian diplomatic relations.

The exhibition focuses on Bulgaria in the 1920's and 1930's and its relations with Italy at the time. Curators Milena Kaneva and Irina Dilkova are presenting the exhibition interactively, with the help of 3D-mapping and projections, multi sensor effects and animation. Visitors will get a chance to dive into the exciting world of Bulgaria in the early 20th century, with its customs and everyday life.
The historical photographs in the exhibition have been carefully preserved for a whole century, wrapped in old diplomatic transcripts and press releases of Reuters and BTA. The most important news of the time can also be seen in the exhibition in the shape of century-old Bulgarian newspapers.
The documentary Treasure in the Heart telling the life story of 95-year-old Nadezhda Bliznakov (who donated the photographs) is also part of the exhibition.
